Darlene
began playing with clay in 1993. By 1998 she set up her own
studio and became active with the Osoyoos Painters and
Potters Club.
Each
piece that Darlene creates is unique and has its own
individual flare. She allows each piece to emerge from the
clay, and transform itself through her hands. Her pottery is
original, yet practical and you can sense her playfulness in
the designs, forms and colours. Darlene draws her
inspiration from nature and her surroundings - many pieces
radiate the warmth and space of the Osoyoos desert.
She has
taken workshops with leading B.C. potters Bob Kingsmill,
Vincent Massey, Robert Hamm and Aubrey Hebig. Her pieces can
be seen at the Osoyoos Art Gallery, Handworks Gallery in
Oliver, Penticton Gallery and at various wineries around the
Okanagan.
Darlene
also has a small studio at her home and welcomes visitors.
