Deb Sherwin

Debbie Sherwin never felt the urge to be a painter - until she awoke from a vivid dream one morning in 2002.

"It came to me in a dream that I should paint," says the Osoyoos Registered Nurse. "It was a very colourful dream that I just couldn’t ignore."

Shortly after awakening on that fateful day, Debbie visited an art supplies store to buy a couple of brushes, a canvas and some oil paints. Then she headed home and began applying paint to canvas, and hasn’t stopped.

"It came totally naturally to me, like it was inside me and just had to come out. Once I started, I couldn’t stop, and I don’t want to. Painting is a big part of my life now."

Debbie is now painting with acrylics and oils from her Osoyoos B.C. home, which she shares with her husband and five dogs. Debbie’s art can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S.A., Canada, as well as London, England. She is an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Osoyoos Painters and Potters and has been involved in showings in Victoria, Penticton and Osoyoos.
